About Izzy Neis

Izzy Neis is a published author, a youth virtual world & safety guru, a cookie connoisseur, pop culture aficionado (especially in children’s entertainment), and a zealot in the pro-kid movement. She’s earned her degree in Elementary Education, a masters in the Teaching and Practice of Creative Writing, and has worked with children for 15+ years.

Izzy is currently the Senior Director of Digital Strategy at ModSquad, and lives in Los Angeles, California.

Previously, Izzy was the both the acting Vice President of User Engagement at Everloop and Fight My Monster, both start-ups in the youth social media space.

Additionally, Izzy was the Director of User Engagement at Gazillion Entertainment, working (as always) in community and safety, helping the company build amazing virtual worlds, MMO’s, and online games for youth (and families).  Izzy also managed the coordination of the European launch and localization for Gazillion’s games. Izzy was also the Sr. Community Manager for Six Degrees Games, the company that created the fantastic virtual world Action AllStars for tween sports fans. Izzy also had the position of User Engagement Manager at Star Farm Productions, a children’s entertainment company. At Star Farm, she created the community department, managed the staff, acted as web strategist, web content editor, web copy editor, customer service, and played the part of Kid Guru and uber product consumer.  Once upon a time, Izzy co-developed and write a preschool book series debuting in 2008 with 9 books called The Kinetics.

On a personal note: Izzy lived abroad for a while, has a love affair with the entire nation of Scotland, and misses traveling desperately! She still writes actively (check out the blog project:  “The Misadventures of the Royal Runaways“). Her weaknesses are cookies straight from the oven and building her database of gifs for that “perfect” response.

P.s. I must pre-apologize if my grammar/spelling is atrocious. I am doing this blog as I juggle daily agendas, and spend little time focusing my editorial efforts. There are articles that pop up and web-surfings worthy of ranting & rambling– and I would rather have at ’em in this blog then wait for a time when I can properly line edit. I promise to do my best though. 🙂
