Hi Izzy! I never got the chance to see what you though about Burger King’s Square Butts commercial. I know you had a few choice words for BK but I don’t see a problem with it as long as they advertise during adult programs. Also if you pay attention closely it’s more targeted at parents than kids anyway. They want parents to know that if they buy a value meal, a kids meal will be 99 cents. My mom still doesn’t like the commercial even after all of the evidence I’ve presented her with.
Rob, they’re NOT advertising during ‘adults’ programs…there’s big time crossover and sexist objectification that is nothing short of soul erosion. (sorry, wound up here, as I witnessed the reverb while working in an urban Boys & Girls club afterschool prog recently and heard the ‘booty is booty’ slingback ‘out of the mouths of babes. Try to grow up female under this level of noise and self-worth tied to backsides. Bleh.
