Parents Recognize Outstanding VW’s
Posted by Izzy Neis on November 4, 2008
The National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) handed out 30 awards for software, video games, and websites that it felt represented the best in the genre for kids, ranging from preschoolers to teens. Among them, 6 virtual worlds were recognized: Club Penguin (a Gold winner and “Best Bang for the Buck”), Build-a-Bear, DisneyFairies.com, Moshi Monsters, Whyville (Gold winner), and Disney Pirates of the Caribbean. Congrats to all the winners.

This is cool! Bravo to these VW’s. I must admit… I’m a shy disappointed that Dizzywood is not listed, as they’re really crankin’ away at an incredibly DEEP world (a thousand times more than BuildaBearville). Many props to my friends at Moshi, Fairies, and PIRATES!!!! Woot woot!
This reminds me… how many of you have checked out the Unconference on youth online media? The people I know who ARE going are truly fab – AND some of the most forward speaking in our industry (none of this PR mumbo jumbo brought to us from the SAME OLD, SAME OLD who speak at every conference with their cheat sheets and approved topics). This should be fun

Hi Izzy. I couldn’t find a way to contact you so I thought I’d just ask here. How do you feel about live-action on Cartoon Network? I’m really interested on your opinion of this matter.
